Put Large in Charge

Choose meaning. Happiness will follow.

We’ve surely heard people tell us, “Do what makes you happy.” It sounds so simple. As long as something isn't immoral or illegal, why wouldn’t we do what makes us happy?

In practice, it’s not so easy. We might think that a particular path in life is going to make us happy, but it doesn’t always turn out that way. Our initial excitement may fade. 

The truth is, we often don’t know what’s going to make us happy. It’s better to pursue that which is meaningful. Rather than asking, “Will this make me happy?” we could ask, “Will this enlarge or diminish my life?” 

If we choose enlargement, we might find that happiness comes along as a great side effect. Check out the video for more:
