Get Revenge by Being Better
"Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good" (Rom 12:21).
I (finally) finished my formal education, but I hope my informal education continues for the rest of my life.
The number of books, podcasts, and Substacks I want to consume only continues to grow.
Significant learning can also result from that which is far less pleasant. James Clear notes that “the observant person finds many teachers.” Those potential teachers include the people who have hurt us.
If we take an outlook of being able to learn from everyone we meet, we can't lose. If someone inspires us, we can learn from that. If someone is not exactly inspiring, well, we can learn what to avoid.
This strategy of finding teachers everywhere may not solve world peace, but it can make our personal lives a little calmer.
Of course, if we learn through this process, we may become aware of times when we have been the one to wrong another person.
Those moments might be even harder to accept than the times when others have hurt us.
They reveal that there's a lot left to learn.
I know ofc that you are right - hearing and pondering this from a rational perspective- but it is soooo difficult not to be bitter sometimes (or many times to be more accurate)
Still, and as always, a very inspiring message!
You are definitely a one-minute-very-difficult guy!!!! 😀
Thank you for continuing doing this!
