If you don't know who MrBeast is, the young people in your life surely do. He is the biggest individual YouTuber on the planet. His videos have been viewed more than 25 billion times.
Videos such as "$456,000 Squid Game In Real Life!" and "I Spent 50 Hours Buried Alive" involve elaborate stunts. There is a contagious feeling of adventure.
It's not just MrBeast.
Superhero movies dominate the box office. People binge podcasts with Jocko Willink, David Goggins, and other Navy SEALs. Jordan Peterson “makes tasks like cleaning one’s room or finding a career sound like dragon-slaying voyages.”
At least in the media consumed by young men, you see this theme of adventure everywhere.
Or, well, almost everywhere. I think we in the Church — and I point the finger at myself — have often failed to present the adventure of the Christian life.
You want a challenge? Love God with all your heart. Forgive 70x7 times. Make disciples of all nations — or talk about faith with friends and family even when it's awkward.
When most people in a society were Christian, it was easy to forget about the call to adventure.
Things have changed.
In many places today, following Christ is not exactly popular. But it can be exciting.
