This trend of plunging into cold water caught fire among a bunch of podcasters and YouTubers and is now a thing in my little corner of the online world.
Could this practice have some benefits? Sure. Could it also be dangerous for some people? Also yes.
Rather than being another random guy on the internet making unfounded medical claims, I'm more interested in the tendency for some of us to latch on to the latest trend.
We can suffer from "silver bullet syndrome," thinking that if we get the right product or implement the trendy practice, then our problems will go away.
I am not immune. I have adopted all sorts of life optimization techniques after reading some book or article. I discarded many within days.
Humans have been around for a while. The latest trend is not essential.
Most of what we need to flourish sounds pretty boring.
